Colorwork Knitting in Portuguese Style - 20 June 2020

In this workshop students will be able to learn how to work with more than one colourat the same time and using typical Portuguese motifs (tiles, tapestries...); all aspects of working with colourswill be addressed:

​

 

- Colour theory;

-Colour dominance and how to make a motif pop out of the work;

 

-How to  catch   floats  behind  the   work;

 

-How to use the Portuguese Style to maintain a constant and perfect tension.

Prerequesites: Previous experience in  Stranded Colorwork  preferred and in Portuguese Knitting Basics also. If the students know to work  stranded knitting and they apply to my other class of Portuguese Knitting for Beginners they will be able  to  take  th is class also.

 

Supplies Students Need to Bring to Class:

 

A range of needles between 3.5 to 4 mm/US 4 to 6 circular needles to do magic loop  knitting or dpn's if preferred (sport/light dk yarn in  at least 4 to 6 different and contrast colours, if possible the same brand).
